WORSHIP

Worship is not just a song or lifting up of hands. Worship is not just closing of eyes with tears running down our chicks. Neither is worship domiciled to a particular geographical location. Even though all these are part of the things that may or may not happened during worship. It is important to understand what it is so that you don’t just do what you see other people doing blindly. I believe that knowing what you are into and doing it well will position you better to live a life that pleases God. Worship is our daily lifestyle. It is what we do, think, feel, touch, and say.
When Abraham was to sacrifice his son as God commanded him, he told his servants to wait while he and Isaac went further to worship. It was a sacrifice to God but more importantly it was an act of worship because God sees the content of Abraham’s heart. It is from the content of his heart that brought about a proportional action to offer Isaac to God irrespective of what he feels prior to that moment. And as Abraham worshiped, God provided the lamb for the burnt offering and spared Isaac’s life. In worship to God, Abraham called that experience the Lord who provides. Because out of nowhere God provided for the burnt offering just the way he provided Isaac to Sarah and Abraham in a way that defies the laws of nature.
No wonder the Bible says in Luke 6:45 that “A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart  brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks” (NKJV). And also Rom 10:9-10 says, “That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved” (NIV).
With the heart we believe and are saved and with the mouth we confess the Lord Jesus.
The Heart believes and contains the article of our faith. It contains all that we have in the Lord.
The Mouth confesses the article of faith that we believe. It is with our confession that we declare the victory that we already have in Christ Jesus.
Therefore, worship is both active and passive. It is active because it is who we are before God when we are conscious and it is passive because of who we are in our unconsciousness. God created us to worship him so whether we are in the church or at work, bathing or having a picnic, all we are doing is worship to God. Your lifestyle is worship to God not only when you sing worship.
